Basically, I am not the kind of person that dots her i’s with  a smiley face… or a daisy….. but on the back of a quilt……WHAT THE HELL!!!!!! I mean WHY NOT!!!!! a quilt is a very personal statement which involves HUNDREDS of hours of  precious time and if I want to include DAISIES, then DAMN IT!!!!! I will.  Which leads me to the topic of WOLVES.

This is the wolf on my fair quilt which is proceeding very slowly because it is just too hot and humid to get much stitching done……I stitch a howling wolf on all my quilts.  I like the wolf.  The wolf is good, the wolf is strong……..

the kimono give-away is not done.  In August I will be 45 years old.  If I am lucky, then I am now at middle age…… half-way there…. the glass is half-full…..you know, an optimist.

So, Japanese stuff is HOT HOT HOT now.  and I have a bunch of it and I want to share it all with YOU.  When I say you, I mean you craftycreativeartisticfabrichoardingyarnstashingstitchingbitching bloggers.  I have faith in every single one of you…. get out your checkbooks, cash in your paypal accounts, give a little love and send me off an e-mail.  I will write each and every name down on a piece of paper, put it in my dad’s old stetson and then on my birthday I will start pulling names out…..I have enough stuff for at least 2 people, but if  I get a lot of love, then I can find stuff for even more.  So, spread the word….. let’s get this thing off the ground.

well, I got some very nice comments and “met” a few new people….however…..due to lack of interest…I think I am going to move on from the kimono giveaway and put my energy in to other areas.

ok.  I am going to go out on a limb here and see what happens.  The superbloggers with tons of readers have successfully raised lots and lots of support for various causes and I thought that I myself would give it a try …. on a smaller scale.

My friend, who is moving, sent me a couple of kimonos, among other things and I thought that I would give them away.  I  know that there is great potential and awesome generosity in the crafting world, so I am going to give this a whirl.

THE RULES.

1. choose your favorite charity or worthy cause

2. make a donation directly  to that charity. For  every 5 dollars that you donate, I will give you one chance at the kimono give-away.

3. send me an e-mail informing me of the amount that you have donated, put KIMONO RAFFLE in your subject line………. janimagee AT yahoo DOT com 

4. leave a comment on this post naming the organization you have donated to, mentioning the amount is optional.

5. I will mail the kimono package to a U.S. address, any  others countries may contact me for special consideration.

That’s it.  I have listed 3 organizations in my blogroll that I have experience with, but you are not limited to those….. there are several research and aid organizations to choose from…. your choice. (for example….breast cancer, aids, Gilda’s ovarian cancer, ronald macdonald house.. IT’S ALL GOOD!)

If there is minimal interest,  one winner will be chosen….. (winners choice of kimono) if lots of people  respond,  two winners will be chosen.   I will be going through my things to sweeten the pot and add to the kimono packages.

…talking to my sister on the phone the other day, she asked what I have been up to lately. 

“QUILTING MY BUTT OFF”

the quilting conditions are optimum right now…. dark rainy days, a bit cool and time on my hands while all three kids are at school.  and speaking of butts….. they do fall asleep….. and need a chance to stretch and flow…. as in “get off your butt and DO something”…..but, progress is being made, and I do believe that the quilt will be completed in time to hang at the fair.  Whew. 

oh yes, we are looking good and feeling alright.

finally…. the tickets for flights to the U.S. have been paid for in full and we will be there in a month.  I am working out some details (in my head) regarding some give-aways.  I am going to go through my stuff, post some photos and see what happens.  WAIT FOR IT!!! and watch this spot for details!!!!
