So far, each package will contain:

Because of knitting, I am now a yearly contributor to Doctors Without Borders, and also contributed fleece tie blankets and knitted hats to the Dulaan project in Outer Mongolia before that part of the project folded. And I would l-o-o=ve a kimono. Hope I win.

There is no such thing as coincidence. I met a really nice lady while looking at pattern books several months ago. She and her church are teaching prostitutes in Mexico to sew so they can earn a living doing something other than sell themselves. They were looking for older model machines and any supplies. I had just gotten a “spare” machine from freecycle that was perfect to give her and raided the stash too. Along with more donations from freecyclers she took out a lot. Now today I had another response to my request for more of those same things on a freecycle site and that was sitting for several months forgotten.

Thanks for contacting me and your comments on my blog. I truly can’t imagine what it is like to lose so much. We are looking for more ways to help. Besides the fabric donations to our quilters, my husband and I donated insulation to an older gentleman that was flooded out of his house not once but twice this last year. I’m looking for other ways to help flooding victims in Wisconsin. My sister is working with local artists and they are converting and decorating leftover sand bags into purses to sell as a fundraiser for Iowa flood victims. What a creative idea. I’m enjoying your blog. Thanks for including me.

I just donated art squares for an art doll that is going up for a drawing to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation as well as I am making a 10×10 quiltlet AND a padfolio for runner up gifts for the drawing. I found your blog from Eric Gower’s breakaway kitchen site – love it! I am a quilter also and huge fan of Japanese fabrics/influences. My husband and I went last year and can’t wait to get back. I would love to enter your kimono drawing, if I still can (time difference and all…).
