the convoluted post.

ok. I will try to keep this simple.

there is this Canadian chick I know (from the internet) and she grew up in Japan… and she is married to a man from France… and they are living in Doha….(are you with me so far?) and she is making a visit to Japan to check out her old stomping grounds and though I doubt that I will have the honor of meeting her, I will be sending her some fish…. you know THOSE FISH….. they are all over the world… in fact, my new goal is to have fish on every continent…. I’ve got most of them covered… (anyone know anybody in Antarctica???)  so I dug in to my big old pop corn tin to check out the FISH IN PROGRESS…

FISH IN PROGRESS.

FISH IN PROGRESS.

I see that I have a few sewn, a few cut out, and not really great colors…. so, I will get some going, because you know, she’s going to be visiting people here and there around Japan and they know me, and they know about the fish, and I am not going to be able to get away with sending just one set of fish…. so…. I will be in “create fish mode” for a few days. Damn fish.

ok. now. i promised you convolution.  *ya say ya want a convolution*  so lets talk about politicscurrenteventsthepriceof oiltheeconomy.

the u.s. dollar is losing power to the yen. so technically, my yen can buy more american goods?

the price of oil is DROPPING….. so, will my utilities drop as well?

the dow is plunging every day…. how low can it go and what does that mean for me?

can obamabidenmccainpalin actually turn this mess around?

should the media be focusing on any other candidates?

finally. a serious question for all my loyal readers (HI MOM!!!!!)………in a salute to Katie Couric….

WHAT MAGAZINES DO YOU READ??????

I subscribe to… QUILTING ARTS, INTERWEAVE KNITS, PIECE WORK MAGAZINE, QUILTER’S NEWSLETTER,  QUILTER’S HOME, BETTER HOMES and GARDENS, and RANGER RICK….

I love Martha Stewart and read her magazine when one comes my way… I have subscribed to Vegetarian Times in the past  and I have about a decade of National Geographic on my shelves.

I do believe that i have a good deal of experience in foreign relations …. and that is why I have dedicated myself to a lifetime of crafting.

okey dokey.  that should do it for the convoluted post. I would like to thank you all for your support.

oh, and one more thing….NAGASAKI has a new MALL!!!! with a 9 screen movie theater… a (nother) STARBUCKS, a new INDIAN RESTAURANT…. and   ………………………………..

A FERRIS WHEEL!!!!

A FERRIS WHEEL!!!!

You are coming down south to hand the fish over to her, right?

I subscribe to Ms. and Bust. I like to pick up home mags when at home, like Chatelaine. I love BHG too.

    I love my fish.
I also love ferris wheels although the one down the road here in Beirut looks really really scary and old. The kids went on it the other night. haha.
I enjoy reading Martha Stewart as well. I also like Good Housekeeping (!), Oprah, and the occasional gossip mag. 🙂

we accidentally stumbled into colorwalk when we visited last time. i thought there was a maruzen coming in that area? us islanders were overwhelmed in that place but we really dug the european toy store, though we resisted any purchases. what are these fish you are referring to?
