my kids took these pictures….camping. July 2010

cicada coming out of it's shell

cicada just out of it's shell.

goofy boy

yesterday was a National Holiday

which means ocean day

which means go to the beach and hang out

(and spend money and stimulate the economy)

we went to the river

not because of the recent shark sitings

and warnings to stay out of the water

but, just because.

great photos!! we debated going to the river vs. the beach and went with the beach. found out at the parking area about the shark sightings..”swim at you own risk”….since we stick pretty close to the beach anyway, figured, “what the heck”…we lived dangerously for 4 hours! it was great!!
Today, summer officially starts for the kids…let the madness begin!!!

dear debbie. glad to hear that you are still alive. over half of shark attacks occur in water no deeper than 5 feet…. I heard that they are going to put up a net at the beach….. it would be nice if they could keep jelly fish out, too.

we all came back with itchy burny bug bits (not mosquitos)… we always do when we go camping… but at least we didn’t get sunburns.

Lovely photos and I do love camping:) Was it hot enough for an ice pillow then??! Must say that we prefer the river to the sea when it comes to canvas in general as the sand -going-everywhere business is so damn annoying.

Where abouts it this gorgeous location btw?

Your pictures each brought a smile to my face. The fantastic photography by budding young photographers… the moment the cicada came out of its shell! That is timing! And the so called goofy boy. I think our boys would really have fun together! Mine is goofy too! 😀
Happy summer days to you all!
