Sept. 7 update…

Typhoon number 9 blowing through has cooled things down just a bit, temporarily…..

I have had some lucky “windfalls” lately….. a stack of (wool) kimono from the neighbor lady’s mother….

short jackets and long kimono...

This one is my favorite, it’s a short jacket and not big enough for me to wear… but i love the color and the pattern…

orange kimono jacket...

I also found some excellent stuff on recycle day, a kimono set for a ceremony for one year olds…

the back...

close up detail of the back....

the baby kimono jacket...

well, i have all these kimonos sitting around now…. what to do with them…. i am not yet going to cut them up… if anyone is interested in some of these kimonos,  i guess we could work out a deal!! Let me know if you want some of them OR if you have any ideas on what i can create from them!!!  They are beautful just to look at!!!!

Here’s a picture ( of a picture) of my niece, about 10 years ago in an old family kimono…

Kayla's cousin, she is about 12 now....

Such pretty fabrics. Being allergic to wool, I wouldn’t know how to work with it and have no ideas for you. But the beautiful baby kimono……You could always add another little girl to the family!! I can’t blame you for not wanting to cut it up. I’m with Jude. Can’t wait to see what you do.
